I am a new addition to the list of contributors on Technorati. Like many before me, I decided to expand my reach and experience with my own blog and writing techniques and get them out to a wider audience. I have been a reader of this stories posted through Technorati for a while and I am very excited to see where I can take this.
As I join up to all the support groups, trending forums, and see what others are doing and talking about I started to re-address my reasons for blogging. Why am I doing this? The short answer is simply I want to. Where I want it to take me is a much more difficult question to answer. I realize that I won't make the top 100 blogs, I probably won't make a wave in the ocean of voices. Then again I might.
My goal is not to turn into a full time blogger. I don't plan to do what others I used to follow did and turn my blog and writings into a canned, money making, billboard of non-personal reviews and opinions just because someone asked me to. If I ever get to a point where someone asks me to review their product in exchange for money or a free product, they will get a real review. I won't slant it positive if it's not. That's why I put more credibility into real user's reviews and comments on sites than mainstream critic reviews. I plan to write about things that I see as important or unique and do it in a way that has more of a real point of view to it. I think that is a way on how you can stick out and get someone to read your work and more importantly get them to comeback.
I write because I like to. I am the Director of Operations in the Security and Access Management space for one of the country's largest financial institutions. I have been doing IT for about 15 years now. I hope that I get to a point where readers can see that I do this for the fun of it, to get some information out in a way that helps people learn, and do it in a way that entertains as well.
To all my new readers that my stumble across my postings I welcome you with open arms. I enjoy comments and feedback and I always try to respond. The Internet Social Media is growing exponentially and yet is becoming less and less social. The Internet is about interaction.
So let's interact.
I call myself the Binary Blogger because life can be as simple as a 1 or a 0...It is or it isn't.
